Anyways, first thing first, Jason and I wanted to have a quick Shout-Out to whichever reader visited our blog 87 times on November 1. We really appreciate it, we really do. You officially hold the record for the amount of times one person has ever visited our website in 1 day
It’s 1950, and as the French Quarter of New Orleans simmers with secrets, seventeen-year-old Josie Moraine is silently stirring a pot of her own. Known among locals as the daughter of a brothel prostitute, Josie wants more out of life than the Big Easy has to offer.
She devises a plan get out, but a mysterious death in the Quarter leaves Josie tangled in an investigation that will challenge her allegiance to her mother, her conscience, and Willie Woodley, the brusque madam on Conti Street. Josie is caught between the dream of an elite college and a clandestine underworld. New Orleans lures her in her quest for truth, dangling temptation at every turn, and escalating to the ultimate test.
With characters as captivating as those in her internationally bestselling novel Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys skillfully creates a rich story of secrets, lies, and the haunting reminder that decisions can shape our destiny.

I adored it. It was cute and funny and serious and action-packed and fast-paced all at the same time. I know that there were too many ands, but that's okay. I couldn't put the book down. I read it more than once (I mean, technically I had to, but I still really enjoyed doing it), and I didn't get bored, which is, by the way, one of the signs of a truly good book. I haven't read the author's other book, Between Shades of Grey yet, but now I think that I just might have to. In the meantime, you need to go and find a copy of this book.
In other news, both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were on sale today at Walmart, so Jason and I are going to have a Hallowsathon this Saturday! All together, it's going to take over four hours to watch the two movies, and I'm so excited! We are now only missing two of the movies, and then the collection will be complete! Mwuahahahaha!
